RAIL ROAD FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Aspen Equipment has an opportunity for a technically strong field service
mechanic for Rail Road Equipment in Ankeny, Iowa. Come to work for a

Field Service Mechanic- Railroad

Job Duties

Perform troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and in-service functions
primarily on railroad equipment. These duties would include all aspects
of providing end user railroad customers with a timely and efficient
service experience. Work is performed at customer locations accessed via
company supplied truck and at times will require overnight travel.

Functional Job Requirements

The individual in this position must be able to work independently
primarily away from Company facilities, communicate effectively with
customers, maintain required paperwork/documentation, and be flexible
in meeting customer demands. A CDL drivers license, clear of major
violations or repeat minor violations, is required. A successful candidate
will be required to pass a drug screen and will also have to pass
railroad security clearance through a background screening.

Technical Job Requirements

The ideal individual will be well versed in the diagnostics, repair, and
maintenance of railroad truck systems to include electronics, hydraulics,
booms, electrical systems, carriers, winches, and undercarriages. Formal
training in general or specific products in these areas is required. A
technical college degree or a structured on the job training program
must have been successfully completed.

Performance standards

Satisfactory performance will be indicated by the following criteria:

• Service orders being completed within the expected time frame
• Minimal rework on jobs performed
• Positive customer feedback
• Application of a high percentage of available work hours (>75%)
• Safe work habits as indicated by no lost time accidents
• Successful completion of all enrolled training courses
• Demonstrated mastery of all rail road systems
• Strong work habits as indicated by willingness to respond to customer
  demands even when they occur outside normal business hours, minimal
  unplanned days away from work, and the absence of tardiness.
